Bill's team
Interview on VYV community radio
I am a different, far better person for having had the privilege of meeting Bill Sutcliffe.
He looked at me. He is only a kid. I'm an adult, but I felt like a baby bird in a warm nest, protected, loved, all-important. We glowed together.
Wilfred Owen Sutcliffe, commonly known as Bill, has just turned 15. He looks like your average teenager, but average he is not, in any way. He and his two sisters are too intelligent for their IQ to be measured. Margaret, who likes to be called Marney, is 12, but studies university-level subjects, and her favourite hobby is computer programming. She has beaten a Grandmaster at chess.
Bill loves to invent electronic devices. He has shown me two: one is his 'stealth device,' which can be programmed to make any object invisible by bending light around it the way a prism does. The second is the 'sound curtain,' which generates a barrier sound can't cross.
Older sister Cindy is fascinated by what she calls the "fuzzy subjects:" philosophy, sociology, economics, and, at 16, has already had three papers published in respected academic journals.
Mum and Dad are no dummies either. Miranda did a double degree in Law and Accountancy, winning prizes in both, and runs an online consultancy while enjoying housewifely duties (she really does, and is a wonderful cook). Jim has a PhD in Agricultural Science, and is a world expert in several fields. However, he loves the outdoors, and prefers to work on the land.
Until three months ago, the family ran a successful farm in the Outback. The kids studied through the School of the Air. Their teacher, Theresa Hortley, told me the three Sutcliffe kids are a teacher's joy. They continued studying during school holidays, and she'd had the pleasure of coaching them on their various tertiary-level studies, in association with experts she organised for them.
Mind you, some of that intelligence is invested in teasing. Bill and Marney are very clever at getting a rise out of each other.
All five family members look back on life near Oodnadatta in South Australia with nostalgia, but after apparent aliens had tried to abduct Bill, they decided to hide in the city. I've talked with their neighbours 'back home.' Beverley Black, an elder of the Antakirinja Aborigines, says "The Sutcliffes? The best people on Earth, I tell you. Jim employed my son Tom, trained him, then gave him a big loan when the bank wouldn't lend to an Antakirinja. So we could buy our farm, and yeah, we've paid every cent back. We made them Antakirinja too. Not many white people have the attitudes to fit in with the old culture, but they do."
Within a week of the move, Bill found himself on the Moon. He was talking to a supercomputer, because, he found out, the alien who'd abducted him actually lives on Saturn, three hours of communication distance away at the speed of light. The 'Greys' who had kidnapped Bill were not alive, but, Bill told me, "computer-controlled robots, though comparing one of our computers to their brains is like comparing an abacus to a smartphone."
As part of interviewing Bill and his circle, I was invited to the Toorak mansion Bill calls "Aurora's Den." It is a place of magic words can't do justice to.
Aurora made flowers and banana trees grow out of a parquetry floor, moved walls around, created and removed furniture at a whim.
How is all this done? Bill has a long explanation on his web site, billsutcliffe.net, but it's beyond me. My husband is an electronics engineer. He read it, and nodded wisely. The essence seems to be that the Universe is alive. It is 'life energy,' which creates the material universe by observing it. Aurora, Bill, and apparently, to some extent many other people, can vary the reality. The aliens had bred Bill to be the best human at this skill. He can do little tricks like levitating my daughters onto horseback, paralysing a person with a thought, and curing people of pain and illness.
He has a support team of nine others, and they can combine their force. When they back Bill, he can free a whole crowd from their addictions, heal people on the other side of the planet, force intending terrorists to sleep hundreds of kilometres away while the police arrest them, and heaven knows what else. Only, all this is ruled by their motto: "Above all, do no harm."
All the others share Bill's ability. I have seen (newly made Elder) Aboriginal Jarro Barnett instantly change himself into a larger copy of Bill, just for fun. Several students at Bill's school have told me stories of similar acts by Cindy's boyfriend, Grater Grattan.
Bill has been changing lives since the day after returning from the Moon. The first was Patrick Wandin, 22. He said, "It's hard being a blackfella in a white man's world. I started drinking at ten years of age, to drown the pain. Then of course I got blamed for being a drunk no-hoper, proving that Abos are inferior. Bill's changed all that. Now, I'm proud of who I am and what I am, free of alcohol, enjoying life and doing good. I lost some teeth in a fight, years ago. Bill even miraculously gave my teeth back to me!"
The next morning, on the school bus, Bill rescued 15-year-old Brendan McCooley from self-hate and illiteracy. "They put me on Ritalin as a little kid so I'd sit still at school, so I hated school. So, I never learned anything. What's worse, my mum used to be a teacher, and my sisters do well. I sat all day in school, bored out of my mind. My fun was, I'm ashamed to say now, to bully kids with my little gang. On Bill's first day at school, we picked on him. Then, after a week, he disappeared. First day back, he sat beside me on the bus, smiled at me -- and I knew I had a friend, and felt good about myself. Now, my mother, and Mr Levy at school, are coaching me daily, and I've just about caught up. I write poetry for a hobby, and have a wonderful girlfriend. I'll be a teacher when I grow up. It's all thanks to Bill."
This is Bill's pattern. Everyone whose life he touches becomes a better person, and in turn spreads the wave of goodness. Perhaps the most remarkable change is for Nathan Donner. He sold drugs, hated everyone, and almost committed a rape. He has left home. Practising the philosophy of unconditional love, two of the 'team,' Jill Grattan and her son Grater, have taken him in. He is now studying hard, and wants to become a social worker.
School principal Martin Inglese told me that between them, Bill, Cindy and Grater have transformed the school. It is now a place of harmony, fun, and above all, learning. There are no discipline problems, and any conflicts are sorted out by the kids, in a loving way. He is sure Bill will lead all of humanity to follow.
The main tool Bill and his team use is 'metta.' This is Jesus' Love, what St Paul described in Chapter 13 of 1 Corinthians. Bill explained it on 3AW radio as "the same as the love of a dog for its human. Doesn't matter what the human does, the dog gives its love anyway. So, think of me as humanity's puppy." There are more formal definitions on his web site.
But there is more to it than that. If I look at you with love, it's just a look. If Bill does, you're wrapped in a warm glow, feel protected, cherished and safe. Many people have told me, that look from Bill makes them remember a particularly precious moment in childhood, like being held safe by a beloved, trusted grandparent.
Other adult members of the team have the same effect, particularly Jarro Barnett and Dr Abraham Miller. More about them in my accompanying article on the team. Cindy has explained that this is an inherited skill that normally develops in a person's 20s. The alien Merlin, who was killed by the recent solar flare, speeded up its development for Bill during his stay on the Moon, and this was what instantly tamed Brendan McCooley, and captivated me when I first met Bill during a press interview he gave, after he and his team unmasked allegedly Australia's worst criminal, Manuel Morrison. This man kidnapped Marney, expecting to blackmail Bill into using his abilities for criminal activities. Instead, Marney paralysed him, and Merlin penetrated his computer. The Australian Federal Police have been very busy since.
My most inspiring experience was witnessing one of the regular 'Koori events' Bill and his team hold. Wurundjeri elder Harry Wandin (Patrick's father) hosts between 40 and 80 people who are motivated to stop alcohol, cigarette and other addictions. Uncle Harry, and another elder, Professor Lillian Smith, welcome and motivate them. Bill's team sits inside, focusing their metta on these people and Bill, augmenting his power. He then uses his mental force to remove the addictions, and to fix the damage the drugs had caused in their bodies. Don't ask me for an explanation, but it works.
I arrived at Uncle Harry's farm to see Bill jump over a gate on a big black horse. Aboriginal people started arriving after lunch, from all over the State, including a busload from Wodonga. Patrick told us this was a sacred time, and so it proved.
This is what Aunty Lil said to them: "Maybe 40,000 years ago, maybe 100,000 years ago, people came to this land. At the time of the white invasion, there were about a million of us. We've lived here all that time, parts of the land. Now, the white man has wrecked much of it, but many of them have come to their senses. They're keen to learn from us, so, it's our time. Harry and I are family. You come from other places, but you're also welcome as family. And if we're to return life to the land, we need to make all people family. Even the white people. Now, pass the beer along, have some. It'll be the last time you enjoy it. Then I'll call Bill, who is also Wurundjeri."
Indeed, I learned, the local Aborigines have adopted the entire team.
Bill gazed at them, his face assuming that beautiful expression when he sends metta. People vomited into bags that were supplied, but immediately after they looked strong, proud, liberated. They were given apple juice, and were clearly on a high, their lives transformed.
Then I witnessed the next miracle. The elder who had organised the busload from Wodonga, Gert Clowden, hugged Bill. He said, "There is something... Aunty Gert, I wouldn't be surprised..." He whacked the back of his hand hard at the edge of a table. The skin broke, and blood flowed. "Heal me," he said.
"Stop bleeding!" she said, sounding angry.
The bleeding stopped.
"Just visualise how my hand was before I injured it, and tell it to return to that. Be absolutely sure you can do it."
Unmarked skin replaced the wound, and the swelling disappeared.
This revealed that, like Bill and his team, this lady is also a natural healer. Perhaps you are too? If you have a history of intuitively being able to make people feel better, fill out a form at mettatrust.org If you qualify, you'll get training, and can help Bill to carry on his work of healing humanity.
After this, Bill asked his team to give him power. They looked at him. He looked at the rubbish bins holding the full vomit bags. When I opened a bin, I found nothing but good black soil inside.
Bill burst onto the world stage with incredible speed. He returned from the Moon on the 14th of February. On the 2nd of March, Manuel Morrison allegedly kidnapped Marney. That evening, all the Australian media received email copies of 47,682 dossiers addressed to the Australian Federal Police, each detailing criminal activity by a prominent public figure, and records of bribes Morrison paid to them. That evening, Bill held his famous initial press conference, which you can watch at billsutcliffe.net/meetthepress.html
I was very fortunate: no senior journalist at The Age was available at short notice, so I went. Bill demonstrated his incredible abilities, Merlin spoke, and we watched a video of a remarkable staff meeting at his school. While the conservative press focussed on Morrison's crimes, others, including John Lerouche from 3AW and I, were more interested in the threat to humankind. Both Bill and Merlin were insistent that this is an emergency.
The news that an alien had revealed itself, and Morrison's arrest, went global, and viral over the internet.
On the 18th of March, which was Bill's 15th birthday, he was interviewed on a local community radio station. You can hear this at vyv.html, and this show was syndicated all around Australia, and in many other countries. This was just after the great solar flare had killed Merlin. The alien who took over chose to be named Aurora, and presents as a female, everyone's mother.
Next was a 3AW talkback radio show with John Lerouche, which has also spread around the globe. Bill received so many phone calls that it took him weeks to contact 1792 callers needing follow-up. He has conscientiously done so, incredible as this may seem, and has healed many hundreds of people. Aurora recorded these sessions, and ABC television showed a selection of these cures. They are touching, inspiring, and will bring tears to your eyes.
One reaction was the President of the American Medical Association appearing on Dr. Oz, intending to explain away Bill's healing ability as nothing but the placebo effect. Aurora can penetrate any electronic setup, and to everyone's surprise, Bill spoke on the show. The whole world heard him challenge Dr. Kristofer Gordon to participate in a scientific experiment. The result was, two weeks later, Bill in Australia cured 50 patients in Boston General Hospital, USA, of their health problems, including one woman's shattered spine. To his credit, Dr. Gordon is now a firm advocate and admirer, and is working with Bill to develop a selection process in which new students entering medicine will be tested for this healing ability.
Bill also gave a very impressive speech at the National Press Club in Canberra, available at billsutcliffe.net/pressclub.html.
So, there you have it. Within a brief three months, Bill has become known everywhere on Earth. He is negotiating with the Australian government on a trade: he and his team will assist in preventing terrorist acts in Australia (they have done so twice already), and addressing the problems of addictions, depression and anxiety, in exchange for improved climate change and asylum seeker policies.
Unfortunately, while almost everyone admires Bill, there are crazies who have fixed on the idea that he is the Antichrist. Having met him, I find this utterly ridiculous. However, one group of supposedly Christian extremists has made an attempt at his life, and the equally crazy Caliphate has declared a 'fatwa' against him. This means that any of their followers have the duty of killing him if they can.
What's it all about? Why did the aliens launch Bill? What are they, and why are they here?
Bill told me what he'd learned from them.
The essence of our Universe is Love: metta. The Universe is actually life energy, which is always one, indivisible, whole. However, it has components with specific jobs. The matter and energy we can sense, and feel part of, is basically a school for components. We graduate to a higher level that no longer needs association with matter when we can give unconditional love to everyone and everything, regardless of circumstances. I may have committed the most horrendous crime against you. You may hate what I have done, but if you are able to love me anyway, then you qualify. This is the message of all the great religions, but, Bill says, you can be an atheist and exercise metta for all. So, our job is to be born over and over, growing and advancing in spiritual maturity, until we reach the level of a Jesus, a Buddha, a Gandhi. Then we get off the wheel of life, and advance to the next mysterious stage.
Things can go wrong, of course, so the Universe also has components that care for us. These are the aliens who have blessed us with their presence. They are utterly different from us. Physically, one is a 500 cubic kilometre cloud of complex electronic connections within the atmosphere of a Jupiter-like planet. The original one evolved on a planet around a star that became a supernova aeons before our sun formed. They are now everywhere within the galaxy, every one of them with the memories of this originator, all being extended copies of it. Since reproduction is a matter of sending information, they have no sex.
Nevertheless, these intriguing beings vary in personality. Bill says, Merlin was like "the benevolent owner of very amusing pets." It kept emphasising its difference from, and superiority to humans, kept laughing at us all the time, and kept challenging and goading Bill and other humans. When it died in the solar flare, the second alien on Saturn took over. It chose to be thought of as female -- and everyone's Mother.
Bill is close to tears whenever thinking of Merlin, but personally, I find Aurora far more to my liking.
Merlin told Bill during his stay on the Moon that it had assisted millions of species within our galaxy, but we are unique -- in the opposite way to how we arrogantly think of ourselves. Rather than being the crowns of creation, we have horrid things like child sexual abuse, genocide, and the limitless accumulation of wealth, which are absent elsewhere. It's as if there was an active evil force on Earth, pushing us toward self-destruction.
Bill explained, we started in the wrong direction many thousands of years ago. As our numbers and technological capabilities increased, we were doing more and more damage. The aliens found us after we started radio transmissions. They came in response to our unfolding tragedy.
Merlin studied life on Earth, then specially bred Bill. He has no unique characteristics, but simply the best of everything that naturally occurs within the human genome. His task is to lead us away from greed, aggression, territoriality, cruelty, and to work with all of us to create the culture we always should have had: ruled by metta; cooperative, compassionate, decent.
Bill's parents, Jim and Miranda, and his sisters Cindy and Marney, are the heart of his team. They are a close, fun-loving family, with lots of laughter, good-natured joking, and mutual help and support. Chess is one of their favourite activities. Twelve-year-old Marney is the champion. Bill says she may be the most intelligent person on Earth, although, as I said in my main article, all of them are at genius level.
When Bill returned from the Moon, he was able to train his family in 'matter manipulation,' because they all strongly have the genetic potential. However, what the alien Merlin called 'charisma,' the ability to give love (metta) in a way that converts the other person into a lifelong friend, is not yet available to the two girls. It will develop naturally when they are in their 20s. As I said, Merlin activated it for Bill.
Next to join the team was Grater Grattan. On Bill's first day at school, before he'd learned to use his special abilities, Brendan McCooley's gang bullied him. Grater doesn't stand for bullying, and put a stop to it. Looking at him, you can see how. He is tall, broad, all muscle and speed. Before he met Cindy Sutcliffe, the love of his life was football. I've watched him play, and although he is only 16, if he played in an AFL team, I'm sure he'd win the Brownlow Medal. Since I expect this pair of articles to go global, let me explain that the Brownlow Medal is the top honour in Australian Rules football.
Before he discovered football, Grater had earned a black belt in aikido, which, he says, is the ultimate martial art. He has also tried his hand at boxing. Dr Abraham Miller, whom I'll describe soon, has watched him in a bout, and said, "I've never seen anyone as good." But Grater hated the brutality of the sport, and if he needs to defend himself, prefers the subtlety of aikido.
The next team member was Grater's mother, Jillian Grattan. She is a tall, willowy blonde with a knack for organisation, a quiet, unassuming manner, and a surprising gift for making wishes that come true. She revealed the secret behind Grater's unlikely name. The boy was christened Hilary, which is a family name of his father's, going back many generations. The boy was teased about 'having a girl's name,' and this was the impetus for his growth into a martial arts exponent and then footballer. Kids laughed at him in kindergarten, and he hurt another child. So, Jill trained him to "above all, do no harm," and took him to judo classes.
Jill's husband died 14 years ago, and she has cherished his memory, staying single. She invests the energy of loving into spreading metta. For example, she has taken into her home 15-year-old Nate Donner, a reformed criminal whose life Bill has transformed. She also shares Bill's to-me-mysterious 'matter manipulation' ability. On Bill's birthday, her gift was a tiny egg. When Bill unwrapped it, it cracked, and a budgerigar flew out. It can fly, sing, obeys commands, but is a 'copy' or robot rather than a live bird.
Jarro Barnett is another volunteer. He is a tall, light-brown-skinned man with a beautiful deep voice, and a presence. People follow him. He said, as a youngster he was violent, reacting against the discrimination Aboriginal people suffer. Alcohol dulled the pain. However, gradually he grew, and became a pacifist, a helper and a healer. But alcohol and tobacco wrecked his health. When Patrick Wandin introduced him to Bill, he was on disability pension, with alcoholic brain damage, and a failing heart.
Jarro has a wonderful effect on everyone he meets. He broadcasts metta, as strongly as Bill. He is a profound philosopher. He said, "In Aboriginal culture, a family shares everything, and is a unit of love, support and respect. Well, to me, all living beings are family. The least harm to anything is harm to me. Oh, it's OK to eat, because that's how we're built. But the old hunters revered the spirit of the kangaroo, and thanked it when they killed to eat. So it is with everything."
When Bill cured him of alcohol addiction, and fixed his body, Jarro discovered that he could copy, and got rid of his own addiction to tobacco. Since then, he has been reversing addictions for hundreds of people, one at a time, and not only Aborigines. "If you're suffering, I'm there for you. That's just how I'm made nowadays."
Dr Abraham and Mrs Anthea Miller are the final members of the team. When Bill returned from the Moon, Merlin put them in touch with the Sutcliffe family.
Abe's's power of transmitting metta is as strong as Bill's and Jarro's's. His presence is instant peace. He is 85, Anthea 81, but they have chosen to look about 50. He was born in Wyoming, USA, after his African-American mother was raped by white men who were never identified. However, he grew up loved, and encouraged to decency. Even as a child, he was a natural leader. He was conscripted into the Marines at 18 and went to Vietnam. His intelligence, valour and leadership led to rapid promotion, eventually to the rank of Major, despite the colour of his skin. Then, a Claymore mine hit him. "I should've died, but I thought, I will live! and the bleeding stopped. I was in terrible pain, but survived. Got flown to St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney. There, I met Anthea, who cured me with a touch. She made 22 bullet wounds disappear, just like that! Then, the alien person Bill calls Merlin took us to the Moon, and trained us. We've been healing people since: Anthea physically, me emotionally."
Anthea is beautiful. As a girl, she could have been a model. She has always had a 'healing touch:' "When I was six, a friend fell and hurt himself. I kissed it better, and the skin scrape disappeared! I wanted to be a doctor, but girls couldn't do that, so trained as a nurse. I was charge nurse of the military ward. My deputy was sick, so I worked a double shift. During my 12th hour of duty, a new batch of casualties arrived. I went to Major Miller. When I looked at his injuries, I thought, He should be dead! Then he looked at me, and my tiredness disappeared. I felt well, and strong. But those wounds in his poor body... I started to cry. And, to comfort me, he took my hand. I thought, Please heal! and he did! Until then, I'd forgotten my childhood experience. We've been in love ever since."
Compassion, decency, fairness, empathy come automatically to all ten of these people. Being of service to others is not a duty or obligation, but natural. We don't all have their wonderful abilities, but we can all copy their wonderful attitudes and actions.
