Living With the Land:
The Inaugural Mt Toolebewong Festival at Moora Moora

For many years, the Moora Moora Festival has been a popular and enjoyable family day. With great pleasure, we announce that the MT TOOLEBEWONG LANDCARE GROUP is holding its inaugural Festival on the lands of the Moora Moora Co-operative, on Mt Toolebewong near Healesville, Victoria.

This is an exciting cooperative venture by a group of people who share a magic mountain.

The Festival will follow the well-tried formula of the Moora Moora Festivals. Its theme this year is LIVING WITH THE LAND, a concept as relevant to city- and suburb-dwellers as to those in the country.

There will be talks, displays and demonstrations in tune with this, such as on Permaculture on the farm or in the suburbs, the role of wild places in child rearing (and wild places can be in your backyard), and farm forestry.

As with the old Moora Moora Festivals, there will also be other areas: solar energy, owner-building including demonstrations of building with strawbale and earth, alternative health, an art exhibition, crafts, activities for children with their parents.

You can take one of the guided tours showing 27 owner-built houses, solar energy systems and a succession of breathtaking views.

Live performers and music will entertain you all day, with an outdoor dance at night. Bring warm clothes!

Delicious food will be on sale, and there will be a marketplace.

WHEN? Saturday 28th February, 2004, from 11 am to late.

WHERE? Go To Healesville via Maroondah Highway. Turn right into Don Rd, then follow the signs.
